FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: McLean, VA (Jan. 8, 2026) – Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bree Brostko as Vice President of Marketing and Communications for HSMAI Americas. In this role, Brostko will partner closely with HSMAI Global and the HSMAI Foundation to lead marketing strategy, brand positioning, and communications initiatives in support of the association’s mission to fuel sales, inspire marketing, and optimize revenue for hospitality professionals worldwide.
Brostko brings more than two decades of experience at the intersection of hospitality operations, brand strategy, and marketing leadership. Her background spans in-house leadership, consulting, and association work, with a consistent focus on measurable impact and strategic growth. Recognized as one of HSMAI’s 2016 Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds, she most recently served as a marketing consultant to the association and will assume the role full-time in January 2026.
Previously, Brostko served as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Brand Strategy for the boutique hotel management firm Retro Hospitality, where she helped scale a portfolio of distinctive, experience-driven hotels and adaptive-reuse developments. Prior to that, she led marketing, communications, and business development for the Resort Hotel Association. During that time, she created Kindred Resorts & Hotels, a public relations and marketing cooperative that grew to represent 63 independently owned hotels and resorts.
“Bree understands both the realities facing hospitality leaders today and the role HSMAI must play in helping the industry navigate what’s next,” said Brian Hicks, President & CEO of HSMAI. “Her blend of operational experience, brand leadership, and deep connection to our members makes her uniquely suited to lead HSMAI’s marketing and communications at this pivotal moment.”
In her new role, Brostko will oversee HSMAI’s marketing and communications efforts across the Americas, with a focus on strengthening brand relevance, expanding member engagement, evolving content and thought-leadership platforms, and supporting the association’s strategic growth initiatives.
